The Shires is situated in the picturesque seaside town of Eastbourne, which benefits from good road and rail networks. The Shires forst opened its doors in 1979 and prides its self on the reputation gained through providing a safe and comfortable haven for elderly people suffering with dementia.

Our commitment us to provide a caring and safe environment for elderly sufferers of dementia. Supported by the care team and the combination of knowledge, experience and qualifications, we provide personalised care, enhancing our residents' lives ina comfortable, warm and friendly environment.

We offer a choice of lounges and dining areas, where our clients are able to sit and, depending on their needs, can become independent or assisted by our carers. Our balanced menus reflect our homemade approach to providing nutritional, tasty and freshly prepared food. We are able to provide alternative menus, subject to individuals' dietary requirements.

In each room, there is a wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cabinet with lockable drawers, a side table, two chairs and a bedside lamp. Each room has a call bell system, radiators that are covered for safety and a temperature-regulated hot water supply.
